Deep Purple Strain

TGA’s Deep Purple is a strain that has been based on the world known Purple Urkle.

Purple Urkle has been sold under a host of aliases including Humboldt Purple, Mendocino Lavender, Bridgeville Black Afghan, Nepalese Purple, Pakistani Purple Kush, Garberville Purple Kush, Swerve’s Cut, Mendocino Purple Kush, Kyle Kushman’s Purple Kush and Tooty Fruity Purple.

It is available exclusively as a clone and is an extremely sought after strain for collectors and medical growers alike.

It is this clone that TGA Subcool has combined with Querkle, a Purple Urkle x Space Queen hybrid (Space Queen itself is a mix of Cinderella 99 and the renowned 100% Indica Romulan). All of this comes together to create a 90% indica strain.

The resulting plant stays pretty stout in structure, needing plenty of lateral space, since it is prone to develop fairly spread out branches.

The buds are very interesting to look at, with variations of purple and lime-green, alongside yellow, orange and reddish pistils and an impressive layer of resin. Deep Purple can exhibit quite a few phenotypes, some more colourful than others.

Those with the purple hue to them are the ones to watch out for if a grower is looking for the most Purple Urkle based variations. It is these buds that will have the strongest grape and berry taste and smell so coveted by growers worldwide.

Deep Purple, like many of TGA Subcool’s seeds, is a regular seed. A regular seed produces a crop of roughly half male and half female plants.

While some growers would have no need or want for the male plants, if just growing the same strain, for others they can be quite necessary.

It is the pollen from the male plants that allows fertilisation to occur, so a grower would need to choose mother and father plants which showed the phenotypes matching their own preferences for the new crop.

They would then make sure that only these could breed in order to pass these traits along, leaving those not wanted behind.

This ability to create a crop tailored to the growers ideals is what makes a regular seed very much preferable, for some growers, to the more user-friendly alternatives.

This strain has an expected flowering time of only 50-60 days. It can be grown both indoor and outdoors and produces a medium yield.
