Vortex Strain

Vortex is a hybrid comprised of a mixture of Apollo13 and Space Queen, two very potent strains, renowned for their resin production.

The resulting plant is an extremely potent strain that grows to a short to medium height, with a bushy structure, despite its 80% sativa dominance, provided it is trimmed properly.

The finished plant takes its traits from both of its parents, producing some elongated, pointed buds with some incredible resin production, growing to a height of around 100 cm.

It is said to have a few different scents, depending on the variety. Some with a mango, lemon, overripe fruit smell and a rather pungent undertone; some with that pungent, overripe fruit smell and an undertone of fuel; a more citrusy, musty and chemically variety and a more sweet and sour combination.

It has an overall flavour of mango, with a touch of fuel and spice. All of these combines to create an excellent hybrid that was named Best Sativa at the 2010 High Times Medical Cup.

This strain is a regular seed, meaning that it would produce a ratio of 50% male plants to 50% female plants. For a grower requiring only the female plants to grow the same strain exclusively, it is commonly agreed that a feminised seed would be the easier choice.

For a grower wishing to breed their own particular strain, however, the male seeds are very much a necessity. It is this that would allow a grower to select only the best features of each strain, in order to select the best mother and father.

The resulting crop would then inherit only the best traits of each variety, while eliminating the less needed aspects. This ability to tailor a crop to the grower’s ideals is what makes this a popular choice, especially for a more traditional grower.

This strain has an expected flowering period of around 50-55 days. It can be cultivated in both indoor and outdoor conditions, producing a medium yield with a high THC level.
